About Us

Dr. Albert P. Gouge, C. Psych.

Dr. Gouge is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to practice with adults and adolescents.

Dr. Gouge is highly experienced having worked in a variety of settings over his career ranging from brain injury programs to inpatient psychiatry, concurrent disorders, addictions, eating disorders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, and anxiety disorders. As well, Dr. Gouge has spent time teaching at the university level and providing consultation to other organizations and institutions regarding PTSD and Addictions.

At this time, Dr. Gouge has focused exclusively on providing assessment and treatment services for PTSD via an encrypted web platform in Ontario. This allows us to continue to meet the needs of our clients in the comfort of their home and without the worry of covid. All patients receive their treatment exclusively from Dr. Gouge.

Psychological Assessment and Diagnosis

We provide psychological assessments for the purpose of diagnosis and development of a treatment plan.

Psychotherapy for PTSD

Patients are provided with evidence-based best -practice Trauma-Focusd CBT. Dr. Gouge is formally trained in this form of treatment and is highly experienced in its application with patients who have severe PTSD related to sexual assault, physical assault, workplace accidents, military events and first responding.

What we don't do

We do not provide treatments not considered best practice for PTSD. This would include: hypnosis, neurofeedback, biofeedback, or EMDR without in-vivo exposures.

As well, we consider ourselves a treatment facility. As such, we do not provide Independent Medical Exams/Evaluations.We only conduct assessments for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment planning.
